In Mataró, everyone can enjoy Christmas to the full: from cultural activities of all kinds, with something for all the family, to the best shops, where you will find all the presents you want, as well as the ingredients for your festive dishes.
At the Nativity Scene and Christmas Ornament Fair, open from November 24 to December 23, you will find all the decorations you need to fill your home with tradition, as well as enjoying live music, magic shows, workshops and much more. And at the Magic Fair, younger visitors can enjoy a full programme of attractions, activities and shows.
You will find all the best products at the city’s nine markets. You can also celebrate Christmas at these markets, where the family activities include the great free escudella noodle soup in Plaça Gran and the Christmas cookie decoration workshop and the festive celebration Fer cagar el tió with presents for children at the market in Plaça de Cuba.
I love Christmas in Mataró because you can find the perfect present at the shops there, and choose from more than 200 restaurants to enjoy a great meal with those you love.
Mataró offers a huge range of festive activities at Christmas. At Epiphany, thousands of people welcome Their Majesties the Kings of Orient, who arrive here to fill us all with enough joy to last the whole year. There are also concerts performed by the Mataró Orchestra and jazz at the New Orleans Christmas Party, not to mention the Pastorets de Mataró, one of the most outstanding Christmas plays in Catalonia.
And you can also end the year by entering the Sant Silvestre run, or take part in the “Wild Swim” and begin 2019 with your first dip in the water.
